Freedom Team

Posted by Jeremy On October - 28 - 2008

We had rehearsal for Freedom tonight and I feel better, as a whole, about this one than any other.  I really feel like God is going to do something amazing.  So here are some of my thoughts on some of the team members.

Janelle- Spot on pitch.  She is basically my melody girl, never sings harmony and I don’t think I have ever heard her sing flat or sharp.  She also loves to worship and that shows in her face and body language.

Robin- Harmony singer who sings with a passion that all can see.  There is a picture I have of her that is a model of how a lead worshipper should sing.  You can see in her face that she really feels what she is singing.

Jon- Lighting guru.  So normally we have motion backgrounds and he bases the lights off that.  This time we have black background with white text and we are letting Jon run with it.  I explained it as a blank canvas and he is using the lights to paint.  We got a little taste tonight but I think we are all in for a treat this Sunday.

Eliot- This is his last Freedom with us.  He is moving to Chicago to attend Moody bible college.  I am really excited for him but it is bitter sweet.  He is one of my favorite musicians to play and worship with.  He understands what we are trying to do when we gather to worship.  He always knows just how much bass to add.

More to follow.

Here is the post that garnered all the attention.

Example of Unstoppable Worship

Posted by Jeremy On October - 11 - 2008

Our youth group is stuck at the border trying to get into Mexico to work at an orphanage.  They actually had to spend the night between the Mexican and American borders.  So what did they do?  They worshipped.  In the face of trials, unethical border guards and rain.  They worshipped.  Through all God is worthy to be worshipped.  The good, the bad, and the unpleasant.

Football or Worship

Posted by Jeremy On October - 4 - 2008

Which deserves more of yourself?

I was at my brothers football game last night in Yuma and for those of you that have not attended a game with me, I am quite passionate about football.  I sometimes leave wondering, was I more invested in that football game then I am when I worship?   This is a question we should regularly ask ourselves.  For many of you it may not be football but think about the thing you are most passionate about.  Now do you invest that much of yourself in worshiping God?  Very little, when it comes to eternity, rides on a high school football game yet ALL eternity relies on God.  How much more should we be invested?

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”  -Revelation 1:8

Lincoln Brewster

Posted by Jeremy On September - 27 - 2008

I am very excited…I was already planning to go to the Lincoln Brewster concert on Monday in Mesa when our church administrator, J’Anne, handed me a paper.  Apparently, Lincoln is giving a guitar clinic in the afternoon before his concert.  I have wanted to go to one of Lincoln’s clinics since I started following him.  Here is a video of Lincoln talking about one of my churches favorite songs.  Let the Praises Ring!
